The Hay Moon

The full moon of July. Moon of Fire. The Hay Moon, also known as..

~ Wort Moon
- Blessing Moon
- Thunder Moon

To name a few.

When the sun was in Leo, the worts (from the Anglo-Saxon wyrt plant) were gathered to be dried and stored.

Nature Spirits:
hobgoblins (small, grotesque but friendly brownie-type creatures), faeries of harvested crops
Herbs: honeysuckle, agrimony, lemon balm, hyssop
Colors: silver, blue-gray
Flowers: lotus, water lily, jasmine
Scents: orris, frankincense
Stones: pearl, moonstone, white agate
Trees: oak, acacia, ash
Animals: crab, turtle, dolphin, whale
Birds: starling, ibis, swallow
Deities: Khepera, Athene, Juno, Hel, Holda, Cerridwen, Nephthys, Venus
Power Flow: relaxed energy; preparing; succeeding. Dream-work, divination, and meditation on goals and plans, especially spiritual ones.

~ July is the time for dream-work, divination, and meditation on spiritual goals and plans. The energy is slower and more relaxed, proper for success and prosperity spells. This month is the time to start preparing for the colder and darker months ahead.

Trees of the Hay Moon;

July 1-7: Oak- Associated with power of vision, self confidence.
July 8-31: Holy- Associated with hearth and home, along with the oak, holly was one of the trees favored by the Druids for their sacred grove.

Now on to what I did in celebration of the Hay Moon. Went to a park next to the Marina and had a moonlit picnic with someone really close to me. We had Ooooh Darjeeling tea, Cucumber sandwiches and cookies. Brought my tarot deck with so that I may draw out a card in honor of the Hay Moon in what she thinks of my life. I drew the Eight of Cups. After spending some time reflecting on that, cause she really hit home. Decided to just lay on the blanket and watch the Hay Moon rotate across the sky, sometimes hiding behind the trees.

Starting The New Year Right

A gift for the New Year. My friend showed up at my door today with a gift he didn't want for himself. The gift was given by someone he wasn't too fond of and because of the kind of person that he is felt that it could have a better home and so he gave it to me.

So I start my new year with a brand new set of Tarot cards. The first reading I did was The Star Spread for the one who gifted them to me, so that it may incorporate his positive energy. I then took a shower, with the cards in the bathroom with me so they could be cleanse as I was being cleanse but through the steam in the room, not the hot water.

Then after brewing a nice hot cup of chi tea I proceeded with my own reading to set up what kind of relationship my cards and I were going to have. Our Past, Present and Future together. I reading goes as following.

xX_ Past ~~ Present ~~ Future _Xx

Then Gabriel decided to be nosey and get her little paw paws all over the deck and so I flipped the card she had her paws on. After reading her her card I decided to see what all the other half in / half outs in house had as the defining card. It goes as following in accordance to who touched the deck all on their own. Below are the cards picked by the cats in my house.

xX_ Gabriel ~x~ Fink ~x~ Lilith ~x~ Ren _Xx

And so my journey goes onward and upward. Starting of the New Year thusly so.

The What, The Where

Out with the old in with the new, my personalized runes. Original concept was for my gaian shop (an online game of dressing up an avatar version of yourself and doing a lot of whatnot on the site. Not the Goddess, I do not play the Goddess.) but sense I haven't been playing too many games lately, I have not being playing with making any new ruins. Until now, not only have a created and new ruin but I have redesigned it as well and now it actually goes with my pegan stuffie! Granted yes it still needs some refining but what art doesn't? Still looks pretty spiffy and unique. And sense I have already have mentioned it, gaia (www.gaiaonline.con) is one of my favorite sites, even though it is a game. Gaia does serve some Pagan needs, for a lot of my pagan art that I like to use, most comes from artist on that site. And there are many of them. If I don't aquire my graphics from the site, then it is usually through a site I found on gaia.

The Dedication Page

As just about any book on the subject will tell you, it is a good idea to have Panthons to dedicate your Grimoire to, ones that will help you along the way in your guide to your reason and research of having a Grimoire in the first place. I have of mine Celtic Goddess Rhiannon; Goddess of Death, Rebirth, Change, Healing & Pets. The Great Queen, Horse Goddess, with three birds she releases the living from life and resurrects the dead. A great God to complement her, Thoth the Egyptian God of Divination, Magical Powers, Psychi Ability, Wisdom, Knowledge & Science. Moon God of Reincarnation. Interesting yes? Well it gets better. One of the first few pages in my Grimoire will be one dedicated to my God and Goddess. I know so far that I will enjoy a skinny page (4" x 8" decorated page) for each one of my Deities that I would love to trade. Other then that I am uncertain of what other art to use for this page but this page will remain a work in progress.

The Art of False

Wicked, Trixie and False are the naughty faeries of Jasmine Becket-Griffin. False, known for her taste in green and black attire and the bloody athame of which she carries has become a representation of myself, while Wicked and Trixie are those of my two sisters. I have created an assortment of art dedicated to the three, mostly in pixels but also in trinkets. I hope to attain more for I am starting the creation of The Book of False, which is the title of my grimoire. A book that will have a cover of 13" x 13" of masonite sheets covered in green valor, held together with black strips of leather, 12" x 12" pages of assorted decor and with an diverse range of topics will not be limited to just pages of green and black. But first thing is first, the personalization of The Book of False. So now I look for and look to create The Art of False.
